The author is clearly familiar with John Quinones' masterpiece series "What Would You Do?" as he's taken an everyday situation and turned it into a madness that most of us can resonate with. Of course, we're not the victim (or victor) here, and even though we're pulled so deeply into the narrator's world and feel the agony of his what-if's as they're our own, at the end of the day the question of whether or not we can have our angel cake and eat it too is only a hypothetical and possibly not even related. The fact is we'll all be in that line sooner or later, and what we do when we're there depends on who we are and where we're at in our lives and whether or not we read this story and knew to bring reusable grocery bags.Great story that's very much worth the read!

It made me laugh! It made me cry! It was much better than "Cats". It was a suspenseful, tear jerking adventure.
This story really captures the drama of the mundane. It feels like the author tapped into my internal monologue. I'd love to see more stories in this vein.
I am a big fan of short stories. By the first word I was drawn in. This story made me laugh. You need to buy this story! You won't be disappointed! Can't wait to see what else Mr. Bren writes.
I am in awe of this man's ability to tell a story. I have had the good fortune to hear James Bren speak on a number of occasions. When I became aware of this short story, I couldn't wait to get it. I was not disappointed!
